Island Tractor & Supply is a full service agricultural, commercial, and light industrial equipment dealer on Vancouver Island. Island Tractor is authorized in the sales and service of over a dozen equipment manufacturers, with the major line being Kubota which it exclusively represents throughout Vancouver Island. Island Tractor services its customers from two locations in Courtenay and Duncan.

Reporting to the Service Manager in our Duncan location, the Heavy Duty Technician is responsible to diagnose, repair, service, or overhaul agriculture tractors/equipment and small/medium construction equipment.

We are looking for a Red Seal heavy duty technician.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
- Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in the heavy duty, equipment, and automotive trades would be an asset
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) and ability to work effectively with customers, the service team, and other company personnel
- Must be capable of meeting the physical demands (ability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly) of the mechanic trade.

**STRUCTURE**
- Full-time position (Monday to Friday) with overtime as required
- Option to enroll in company-sponsored benefits plan after 3-month probationary period
- Training provided on an ongoing basis
- Must have clean & valid driver's license
- Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience
- References required but privacy assured

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
