Organizational Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for scheduling and prioritizing daily inspection work in the Quality Department as needed. The Quality Inspector works in collaboration with the Operations Manager and Supervisors to ensure product and process compliance to the Quality Management System.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe following are the general job responsibilities for the Quality Inspector.
- Certify and perform gauge calibration and schedules on all measuring equipment.
- Ability to interpret GD&T data and a sound understanding of metric and imperial tolerances.
- Ability to perform dimensional and visual inspection for a wide variety of machined and/or fabricated components.
- A strong understanding in blueprint reading is an asset.
- Ability to perform various computer functions using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to effectively present reports and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers, and customers.
- A proactive approach in maintaining a quality system in order to provide a product that meets or exceeds customer satisfaction.
- Ability to interpret written reports, correspondence, instructions, procedures along with the discretion and tact to maintain confidentiality.
- Assist in resolving non-conforming product, by executing an investigation to determine root cause, and provide a corrective action for internal, supplier, and customer issues.
- Experience in machining and the basic understanding of mills and lathes is an asset.
- Experience in welding and fabrication is an asset.
- Perform inspections, checks and tests for the purpose of quality control at all stages of production as job specific requirements
- Ensure all job specific documentation has been completed
- Identify necessary print and template revisions
- Exercise authority over, and responsibility for, the final inspection and release of product to the customer
- Confirm final products are properly and adequately identified
- Affix nameplates, load rating stickers, S.O.P. stickers and similar product-specific documentation to the final product
- Report non-conformance to applicable department managers/supervisors.

- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and maintains a strong commitment to the B&D Manufacturing Safety Program at all times
- **Qualifications**

**Minimum Education**
- College Diploma in a related field preferred
- Qualified machinist or equivalent certificate of qualification preferred

**Minimum Experience**
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the machine shop and fabrication trade
- Knowledge of CWB and ISO Standards and experience working in an ISO quality environment is critical

**Special Training or Certificates**
- Current WHMIS

**Working Conditions**
- Work involves considerable stooping, bending, lifting, and standing.
- Work involves frequent movements regularly required using the wrists, hands, legs, and arms

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
