**Construction Labor Supervisor**

Overview

**Greater City Concrete Works Ltd. (GCCW)** was formed in 2007. GCCW has proven itself with a recipe for success and a strong technical background in the construction industry.

**GCCW **began as a concrete forming company and has evolved into a respectful general contractor providing a wide range of construction services in the Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial sectors

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Accomplishes construction project objectives by recommending and participating with the selection, training, assigning, scheduling, communications with Operations Manager
- Meets construction budget by constant supervision and communications with Estimator /Operations Manager while monitoring all project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions where needed
- Accomplishes construction project results by following established standards and protocols; allocating resources; help schedule and supervise staff and sub-contractors; input when necessary to resolve issues; evaluating and implementing change orders
- Help meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; weekly reporting, complying with legal regulations and communicating these accordingly to all sub-contractors
- Enhances organization reputation by taking pride and accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Ensure required equipment, materials and other resources are available and on site to meet project requirements
- Prepare work progress reports, evaluations, estimates, and other related paperwork
- Resolve any on site issues as required
- Coordinate the day to day tasks of crew members
- Assist Management in projecting schedules and costs to prepare detailed project planning
- Performs other related duties as required

**Requires Knowledge & Awareness of Following Tasks**:

- Company’s policies and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of concrete and Civil work
- Knowledge of Civil Project Management/Estimating/Supply management
- Knowledge of safety procedures and codes
- Knowledge in reading and interpreting drawings
- Knowledge of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts
- Knowledge of general renovations and trades
- Strong customer focus with the ability to maintain client relationships.

**Work Conditions**:

- Field work (outdoors, dusty/dirty environments)
- Driving (sitting for extended periods, maintaining focus and alertness while operating company vehicle)
- At times it may be necessary to work outside of the regular work day in order to complete their duties.
- Ability to travel and work on remote construction sites across Canada.

**Specific Skills Required**:

- Analytical, detail oriented, hands on, and a team player.
- Excellent oral communication
- Excellent written communication
- Good judgement
- Strong Multi-tasking skills
- Organized
- Previous supervisor experience of at least five years experience in construction projects, mine construction is an asset
- Experience reading and interpreting engineered drawings
- Experience with surveying tools and measurements
- Experience reading and interpreting material specific documentation.
- Experience mentoring and developing young workers.

**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**:

- Working at heights, Aerial work platform training, Telehandler training, etc.
- Technologist Diploma, Engineering Degree, Construction Trade Ticket or any other related to the Construction Field.
- Driver’s license
