**Scientific Technical Officer - Resource R24**

The **Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship** is accountable for integrated water, land and natural resource management and cross-sector legislation, policy, and objective setting for land and marine environments.

The **Land Use Policy, Planning and Ecosystems Division** works in partnership with Indigenous governments to advance modernize land use planning with community, stakeholder, and public input including operating and expanding Indigenous forums (e.g., Environmental Stewardship Initiative and Collaborative Stewardship Framework) and working with First Nations on collaborative stewardship of natural resources and monitoring of cumulative effects.

**The Role**: Reporting to a team lead and working in a variety of settings, the Land and Resource Coordinator works in diverse teams, gathers and manages complex natural resource data, completes analysis and develops options, provides advice to statutory decision makers, facilitates and coordinates projects and engages directly with a wide variety of stakeholders to support land/resource management decisions and resolve complex stewardship issues.

**Job Requirements**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in a natural resource management related field such as: Forestry, Geography, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Law, and Public Administration and a minimum of 1 year related experience* ; or,
- A Diploma in a natural resource management related field such as Forestry, Geography, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Law, and Public Administration and a minimum of 2 years related experience *; or
- An equivalent combination of education/training plus, a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a related field as noted above.
- Related Experience - minimum years required are as noted above for each related experience statement:

- Experience coordinating projects delivered by multiple teams;
- Experience managing relationships with stakeholders and supporting consultation and engagement sessions; and
- Experience implementing conflict and dispute resolution principles and practices.
- Valid B.C. driver’s licence.
