Regional Maintenance Personnel

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager, the **Regional Maintenance Person** will be responsible for Perform general maintenance work across a portfolio of properties to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained and to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the property.
**The responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to**:
- Work closely with the Regional Maintenance Manager in overseeing value-add projects/capex plans through the assigned region.
- Schedule with on site GM and Maintenance for Quarterly Hotel visits to perform building and mechanical inspections, assign minor tasks to on site maintenance based on inspection.
- Work with RMM to plan mechanical repairs and/or replacements and or building repairs based on Inspections.
- Schedule visits of Leased assets to ensure mechanical and building is being properly maintained as per tenant Lease.
- Working closely with on-site maintenance staff to provide training in routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel fixtures and equipment including, but not limited to, drywall, flooring, small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment. Assist where needed to avoid need of third party services or replacements.
- Create accountability in the on-site maintenance teams by monitoring process of key activities and projects based on property inspections.
- Represent the company and its best interest when dealing with third party suppliers and contractors, while maintaining a strong professional relationship with preferred vendors and contractors in each market.
- Assist the Regional Maintenance Manager with negotiations of all maintenance related contracts/vendor pricing, as well as reviewing every monthly mechanical invoice to ensure accuracy and reasonability.
- Identify items being outsourced that could become a training opportunity to avoid external expense in future.
- Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
- Assist the Regional Maintenance Manager with annual budget planning, updating planners for yearly capex and regular repairs and replacements.
**Required competencies include**:
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co
- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Climbing, reaching, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel throughout Canada either via vehicle or plane.
- Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each accordingly. Be skilled in several areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
- Must be readily available for calls from on-site maintenance to provide direction and guidance on day to day items.
- Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
- Must have the ability to communicate in English.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and manner.
