Cabin Resource Management’s Ltd. growing Heritage Division is seeking an** Intermediate Archaeologist**.

We provide services for all project phases and types including private land assemblies to forestry developments and everything in between. We ensure regulatory compliance and go beyond by integrating Indigenous community collaborators throughout a project’s lifecycle to find solutions that respect and support their social, cultural, and economic needs. Our highly skilled team integrates digital tools and technology to record, understand, and learn from the past to develop innovative systems to plan for a sustainable future. **Responsibilities**:

- Fieldwork including survey, monitoring, and data recovery excavation
- Assisting in cost estimate and proposal preparation
- Coordinating with field staff, GIS staff, and senior managers from Cabin’s other Divisions to support project work
- Liaison and coordination with First Nations on a project-by-project basis
- Field preparations and logístical support
- Compiling and submitting Provincial site inventory records
- Writing, review and editing of AOA, PFR, AIA interim and final reports, and drafting comprehensive Heritage Management Plans
- Routine office tasks; Contributing to and developing innovative community-guided cultural heritage
management practices

**What we are looking for**:

- Bachelor’s degree in archaeology or anthropology
- BC Archaeology Branch approved Field Directors (as per Bulletin 17) for the **Interior**
**Plateau Cultural Zone**. (Those that can demonstrate that they are very close to
obtaining this will also be considered)
permit holding status will be strongly considered
- Canadian citizen or valid work permit
- Valid BC driver’s licence (Class 5 or higher)
- Willingness to travel and spend time away from home
- Compliance with Cabin’s OH&S system
- WCB OFA Level 1 (transportation endorsement an asset)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to manage your time and set priorities to meet project deadlines
- Able to conduct fieldwork under strenuous conditions and rough terrain
- Experience creating, tracking, and managing budgets
- Experience writing and editing technical reports
- Familiarity with the Heritage Conservation Act and current BC Archaeology Branch
policies and bulletins
- Demonstrated experience or willingness to work collaboratively with First Nations
