Fiber Splicing Technician

Poirier Technical Solutions Corporation is an Ontario based company operating in the telecommunications industry for the past 4 years.

We are currently looking for Fiber Optic Splicers to join our team as soon as possible.

**Duties and Responsibilities** **includes but not limited to**:

- Read and interpret blueprints or job specifications
- Climb a ladder to access telecommunication lines
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment
- Complete daily paperwork (update splicing package, timesheets etc.)
- Perform other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- Previous work experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast paced and physically demanding role
- Physically able to carry, raise and climb a ladder
- Ability to carry, lift and work with heavy objects/equipment (e.g. manhole covers)
- Comfortable working in confined spaces
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools including gas operated drills and chainsaws
- Demonstrate effective decision-making skills under limited supervision
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Must be willing to travel as required
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and emergency call outs as required
- Must have valid driver’s license with clean drivers abstract
- Basic computer skills

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
