**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Essential Functions of the position include, but are not limited to;**
- Manages, Configures, Troubleshoots, and Updates VMware and Hyper-V virtual environments to optimize performance and resource utilization.
- Implements and maintains Veeam backup solutions, ensuring all critical data is securely backed up and recoverable.
- Monitors and troubleshoots storage devices.
- Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues, and ensures network security protocols are up to date.
- Collaborates with IT team members to support network-related projects and initiatives.
- Provides technical support and guidance on virtualization, backup strategies, and network management.
- Documents system configurations, updates, and changes in accordance with company policies.
- Creates and maintains up-to-date network diagrams.
- Complies with JSOX, CJIS, and ISO.
- Network environment:

- LAN - Configures and maintains routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Copiers/Printers/Print Server - Monitors/Maintains availability of printers.
- Documentation:

- Network - IP Address and DNS.
- Maintains hardware and software asset inventory.
- Service tickets - updates with work performed and closes after user request has been satisfied.
- Reviews and recommends changes to IT documents and procedures as needed.
- Supports Fujitsu documentation requirements (parent company) as needed.
- Production Environment:

- Maintains Production environment systems.
- Maintains routers and switches.
- Disaster Recovery (DR):

- Reviews, recommends, and implements changes to DR processes and documents.
- Validates DR functionality with regularly scheduled failover testing.
- Regular work site attendance
- Schedules and applies Windows updates and patches to maintain system security and functionality.

**Other Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provides desktop support for users in Canada and U.S.
- Works with the Manager - IT to implement initiatives as required.
- Works with Manager-IT to move data centers to a cloud-based environment.
- Adheres to company policies, ISO requirements, safety, and quality.
- Supports continual improvement efforts.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Proven experience with VMware virtualization technologies and Veeam backup solutions.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments and proficient in managing Windows updates.
- Strong understanding of network principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP, Veeam Technical Certification, Microsoft Certified) are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Time management and the ability to complete issues in a timely manner.
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to work independently (and with limited supervision) while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with employees and departments at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze detail and perform structured decision-making daily.
- Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate to large scope and complexity using company or departmental policies as guidelines.
- Must be capable of managing multiple priorities effectively and be able to identify and recommend best course of action from several alternatives.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or an applicable valid professional IT certification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
