**Gourmet du Village** manufactures and sells gourmet food items to major retail chains as well as specialty independent shops all across Canada and the USA.

We are looking for a friendly and energetic individual to join our team. You are an experienced purchaser, able to analyze and make improvements? If you want to work within a company where you will have a key position and where you can make a difference.

This position will have a key role in ensuring on time delivery of ingredients and components to assure the smooth running of our manufacturing and shipping departments to stay on time and up to date with our growing demand.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for purchasing of all raw materials and all other components necessary for proper functioning of operation and production departments. (ranging from printing packaging, to purchasing spices, to ordering and consolidating containers from China)
- Source ingredients and items, negotiate pricing and minimums with suppliers.
- Validate the availability of the raw material and ensure on time shipping to meet the production schedule.
- Working hand in hand with production planner to ensure proper timing of inventories.
- Analyze purchase requests based on cost, delivery time, quality, priority, avoiding excess inventory and stock-outs.
- Look after bid requests, custom inquiries, samples and other requests from the sales and marketing department.
- Actively participate in the ongoing improvement of the department.
- Participate in the operational side of new products (costing and sourcing)
- Perform inventory management to maximize financial and strategic effectiveness of the movement of goods.

**Requirements for the position**:

- 3-5 years’ experience as a purchaser (experience in the food industry an asset)
- B.A.C. in procurement an asset, (in the absence of the desired degree relevant experience will be considered)
- Bilingual - English and French, Oral and written.
- Experience with purchasing from foreign country an asset
- Good knowledge of MS Office, strong in Excel.
- Experience working with MRP system
- Strong communication and decision making skills
- Ability to problem solve and multi task.
- Strong analytical skills

Vous êtes un acheteur(se) d’expérience, capable d’analyser et apporter des améliorations ?

Ce poste aura un rôle clé pour assurer la livraison à temps des ingrédients et des composantes afin d'assurer le bon fonctionnement de nos départements de fabrication et d'expédition et afin de rester à jour avec notre demande croissante.

**Responsabilités principales**:

- Approvisionnement des ingrédients, matériaux et autres, négocier les prix et minimums avec les fournisseurs.
- Validez la disponibilité de la matière première et s’assurer qu’elle soit expédiée au bon moment pour convenir à la cédule de production.
- Travailler avec le responsable de planification de production pour assurer un arrivage ponctuel des inventaires (matières premières et produits finis)
- Préparation et analyse des demandes d’achats selon le coût, le délai de livraison, la qualité, la priorité, en évitant les excès d’inventaire et les ruptures de stock.
- Être responsable des demandes de soumission, d’échantillons et toutes autres demandes de la part des unités internes. (ventes et marketing)
- Participer activement aux différentes initiatives d’améliorations du département.
- Effectuer la gestion de l’inventaire afin de maximiser l’efficacité financière et stratégique du mouvement des marchandises

**Requis pour le poste**:

- 3-5 ans d’expérience à titre d’acheteur(se) (expérience dans l’industrie alimentaire un atout)
- B.A.C. en approvis
