The Halton Regional Police Service is currently seeking one (1) energetic, collaborative and innovative individual to join our **Purchasing** team as a Summer Student from May to August.

**About the Role - How you will Contribute to the Service**:
**What you will be Responsible For**:
This role presents a unique opportunity for a student to acquire valuable professional experience in the dynamic field of procurement. As a member of the Purchasing Services Unit, the incumbent will assume key administrative responsibilities, encompassing the digitization of paper documentation, maintenance of the master security clearance list and the development of a comprehensive inventory and vendor guide.

Some major responsibilities include:

- Paper to electronic file storage
- QMS manual: which rank and unit get allotted what and the amount, along with photos, descriptions and vendor information
- Invoices
- Security clearance master list
- Disseminating the bankers boxes of folders and files in storage room
- Updating Outline Agreements
- Business card ordering
- Updating Outline Agreements

**What you will Bring to the Role**:
**Education, Certifications and Qualifications**:
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or a college diploma in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines.

Note: The successful applicant will need to pass a background check to the satisfaction of the Service which will include reference checks with previous employers, verification of educational achievements, and a criminal background screen.

**Hourly Rate**:This is a paid student position ($19.43 per hour) for a four month term (May to August 2024) contract

**Working Hours**: 35 hours per week: Monday - Friday. This position is based out of our Oakville Headquarters facility which is located at the QEW and North Service Road West.
