Electrical and Instrumentation Planner, Christina Lake

Working directly with the maintenance group at our operating site, Christina Lake, the Electrical and Instrumentation Planner will be a part of a dynamic team that focuses on work order planning, scheduling and maintenance work utilizing MEG’s processes. This role is a key part of the planning and scheduling group, and we are seeking a highly pro-active individual to contribute to the development of MEG’s planning processes, work practices as well as contractor tracking during Turnarounds. To succeed in this role, the Electrical and Instrumentation Planner will rely on Maximo to create job plans, manage materials and Management of Change (MOC) documents. A key portion of the role will also entail alignment with the Turnaround planning initiatives which includes special projects within your trade discipline.

Your Day to Day will include:
- Provide leadership in establishing a strong Safety culture within MEG Energy’s organization, its vendors, service providers and contractors.- Develop and prepare work packages in Maximo (CMMS system) for all resources which include our maintenance service providers.- Provide timely data into the scheduling program to support reporting requirements.- Ensure work order cost controls are consistently completed for your portion of the process.- Assist with the identification, planning and review of regular maintenance and turnaround work orders.- Act as a specific area single point contact prior to and during the turnaround execution activities.- Ensure accurate and timely reporting crossover notes with your cross shift.- Assist in the development and review of the planning and scheduling procedures.- Create asset standard job procedures and job plans (SJP).- Assist in the Maximo Implementation process.- Be part of a cohesive team and build strong relationships with other groups such as the Operations, Projects, Engineering, and Maintenance, Contractors, Site Services, and other stakeholders.

What you will bring to MEG:
- Relevant trade technical diploma as a Journeyman Electrician or Instrumentation Technician- A minimum of five years of experience in a maintenance role with a minimum of two years’ experience working directly as a Planner. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.- Project management certification or planning and scheduling training is an asset.- Previous experience in a Scheduling role is an asset.- Strong working knowledge of Turnaround and Maintenance Management processes including planning/scheduling, cost estimating, cost control, change management, financial, and project controls.- Must be able to read piping and instrument drawings.- Strong Maintenance background with SAGD experience is an asset- Full knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and standard practices with Maximo direct experience as a strong asset.- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.- Excellent written and oral communication skills.- Excellent computer skills working with MS office is required.- Experience in updating MS Project and/or Primavera (P6) scheduling software is an asset.- A self-starter, pro-active work style and the ability to work with mínimal supervision is required.- This is a Fly-In, Fly-Out camp based position, working on a 7&7 rotation (Tuesday - Tuesday), flying out of Calgary or Edmonton.
