**What can I expect to do in this role?**: As an experienced trainer/instructor, you will:

- Design course training standards/plans and organize, coordinate, and evaluate police courses and training events

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Minimum valid driver's license class of G or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario
- Occasional travel within Ontario is required

**Public Order Unit Training (POU)**
- You have demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skills required to provide training to equip police officers to respond to public disturbances and maintain order, in support of safe, consistent and effective public order policing across jurisdictions.

**Mental Health Crisis Response Training**
- You have demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skills required to provide training in responding to individuals in crisis.
- Knowledge of immersive and interactive reality-based training is considered an asset.

**Immediate Rapid Deployment (IRD)**
- You have demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skills required to provide training in response to high risk events involving active attackers in order to delivery consistent training and a seamless interoperability approach for both Basic Constable Training and senior officers across jurisdictions.

**Investigative Interviewing Training (IIT)**
- You have demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skills required to provide training on rapport building, verbal, and nonverbal indicators as well as proxemics in an investigative interview.

**Search Warrant**
- You have demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skills required to provide training on structuring a search warrant, proper sourcing, and disclosure of supportive information during a search warrant process.

**Crisis Negotiator**
- You have demonstrated expertise, necessary knowledge and skills required to provide training in crisis negotiation.

**Basic Tactical Officer**
- You have demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skills required to provide training on functional performance of a Basic Tactical Officer including but not limited to containment, tactical operations, hostage rescue and explosive forced entry.

**Officer Safety**
- You have demonstrated expertise, knowledge and skills required to provide training to new police recruits on strategies to enhance their ability to manage high-risk calls for service, with emphasis on critical thinking, de-escalation, good judgement and stress awareness.

**Adult Training and Education**:

- You have knowledge and experience with training and education theories and methodologies in order to provide/facilitate training to learners, police services and other enforcement agencies
- You know curriculum design, development, and implementation techniques
- You can coordinate senior leadership training by contributing to competency updates, benchmarking existing training to those competencies and creating a standard for Ontario while ensuring collaboration with national police agencies
- You can operate classroom presentation technology

**Law Enforcement Knowledge**:

- You have knowledge and experience with criminal and/or provincial offences investigations best practices, procedures, and standards
- You are aware of advancements in technology and practices that affect policing services

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:

- You have presentation skills to present and explain highly complex information clearly and accurately for learners
- You have written communication skills to prepare course materials and other reports
- You can provide expert testimony at judicial hearings
