**Responsibilities**
- Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems
- Type in data provided directly from customers
- Verify data by comparing it to source documents
- Update existing data
- Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
- Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
- Maintains a filing system and protects confidential customer information
- Uses basic office equipment (photocopy machine, facsimile machine etc)
- Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
- Completes additional assigned tasks as required
**Requirements and skills**
- Experience as **data entry clerk **is preferred however full training will be provided
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Typing skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware
- Basic understanding of databases
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word) would be an asset however this is not a requirement
- Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
- Great attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently with mínimal supervision
- High school degree or equivalent
