**What we are looking for**:
As a Supervisor at Fresh City Farms, your primary objective is to optimize the customer experience. This is achieved through supervising the performance of Associates using the tools, resources, policies, procedures, and standards set by the Store Manager and Fresh City Farms. We foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, creativity, and compliance. At Fresh City we are passionate about local quality ingredients and always delivering exceptional service.
**What you will be doing**:
- Working primarily alongside the team in a customer-facing capacity, demonstrating professionalism, leading by example and maintaining a positive, proactive and productive work environment compliant with company policies & procedures
- Ensuring that all customers have a seamless shopping experience including a warm & friendly greeting, beneficial product knowledge and appropriate additional recommendations
- Maintaining store environment as welcoming and easy to shop, ensuring music and lighting are set to standard and product displays & pantries are clean, rotated and well-stocked to store merchandising plan
- Fulfilling customer requests by retrieving food from display fridges, slicing bread, warming and/or toasting of grab n go items, bagels, and sandwiches, brewing coffee and preparing beverages according to recipes and standards
- Communicating timely feedback to employees, the Store Manager, and/or other departments including but not limited to employee morale and performance, product quality, and operational and/or safety concerns
- Executing ordering and receiving according to company procedure
- Executing and coaching cash handling procedures
- Ensuring that all product is accounted for that is purchased, damaged, wasted, and not sold within its shelf life in the manner designated by company policy
- Performing, delegating and coaching others to perform indoor and outdoor tasks, including but not limited to cleaning windows, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, washing dishes, snow and ice removal, daily equipment maintenance and waste/recyclable material sorting and removal as assigned or scheduled
- Ensuring that food safety and cleanliness standards are followed at all times, reporting any actual or near-miss injuries according to company policy and legal requirements
- Other duties as required
**What you will bring to the table**:
- 1 year experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred
- Experience in a customer service, food service or food production environment is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and foster a positive work environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Certification/Licensing Requirements**:
- Certification in Food Safety and/or First Aid is an asset
**Physical Requirements**:
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer, tablet and peripherals
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Frequent bending and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs as required
