**Role**:
The Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Infrastructure is looking for a Caretaker Foreman at the Queen Elizabeth II Building.

The Caretaker Foreman position is responsible for on-going cleaning of the Queen Elizabeth II Building to ensure asset value is maintained, and to support normal operation of client department functional programs. This position will function within a demanding, time and quality sensitive framework. Developing and maintaining positive client relations with building occupants is a key requirement.

The Caretaker Foreman’s primary areas of responsibility are:

- Provision of effective supervision to assign, review, coordinate and inspect in-house caretaking activities.
- Ensuring the performance of caretaking work outlined in Alberta Infrastructure Caretaking Specifications.
- Provision of responsive customer service and maintaining excellent client relationships.
- Maintaining a stock of equipment/supplies required by the caretaking team to perform their jobs effectively, by following proper procurement procedures to order/purchase as necessary.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Requirements:

- High school education
- PLUS 2 years of related Supervisory experience
- Physically able to lift and handle the caretaking equipment associated with position assignment

Other Requirements:

- Ability to move furniture and objects in preparation for cleaning and to load and unload trash receptacles of varying sizes.
- Ability and knowledge to safely operate and maintain relevant custodial equipment and small tools (floor maintainers, carpet extractors, vacuum cleaners, etc.)
- Ability to mop and scrub for lengthy periods of time and to work on ladders.
- Knowledge of proper bending and lifting techniques and ability to lift and carry 22Kg.
- Knowledge of the safe use of chemical cleaning agents and possible hazards relating to environmental sanitation.

Experience and knowledge that will be considered an asset:

- Knowledge of standard cleaning techniques and characteristics of surfaces to be cleaned and equipment and supplies required.
- Knowledge of green products, such as Ecologo certified, and cleaning processes.

**Salary**:
$1,669.09 to $1,950.32 bi-weekly ($43,563 - $50,903/year)
