**Who is Chief Red Bear Children’s Lodge?**
Cowessess First Nation is the first Indigenous rights holder Nation to sign a coordination agreement in Canada. Cowessess First Nation asserted jurisdiction when it comes to child welfare and family services through the implementation of the _**Miyo Pimatisowin Act**_ and respected by Canada through their Bill C-92 legislation. Chief Red Bear Children’s Lodge (CRBCL), which has jurisdiction from the Miyo Pimatisowin Act, changes the approach of child and family services by providing support in a way that is rooted in traditional Indigenous values and cultural practices. Rather than the common intervention approach, CRBCL provides empowerment through a prevention approach with healing and prevention as the preferred method for ensuring children and their families are safe and growing together in a healthy way.

**Position Summary**

We are seeking high energy, compassionate and experienced professionals within the human services field to join our fast-paced team as Therapeutic Homefire staff to work within our Good Life and Growing Up Well (Protection) team. These individuals will work primarily in a therapeutic homefire setting that supports the needs of our clients' and their overall wellbeing with a prominent inclusion of indigenous cultural practices. Therapeutic Homefire staff aid in the design of relevant customized treatment protocols and then execute the strategies identified therein, as needed.

Therapeutic Support Staff Responsibilities:

- Developing trusting connections with homefire residents that foreground respect and zero judgment.
- Working with a designated team to develop custom, evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Tailoring these custom-made regimens if required.
- Creating structured and emotionally supportive environments in accordance with treatment plans.
- Facilitating the adaptive modification of unsuitable behaviors.
- Collaborating with our homefire residents' families, instructors, and consulting Clinicians, where needed.
- Crafting individualized progress reports to share pertinent data with stakeholders.

**Qualifications**
- Degree in social work, psychology or a suitable equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working within Family & Child services is an asset
- Psychotherapeutic training is an asset.
- Knowledge of Bill C-92 and the Miyo Pimatisowin Act preferred

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and create trusting relationships with children, parents, and co-workers.
- Able to analyze and assess information quickly and effectively.
- Able to work closely with both adults and children in a respectful and effective manner.
- Knowledgeable in the culture and spirituality of Indigenous people relating to family practices and community, and aware of the importance of observing these elements in professional approach.
- Patient, compassionate, and emotionally intelligent with the ability to identify and examine social cues.
- Strong sense of self-awareness to cope with high stress levels as well as unpredictable and/or difficult situations.
- Willing and able to travel with a valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle.
