**Seasonal Labourers - Public Works**:
**4-day work week (9-hour shifts)**

The City of Mission is recruiting for self-motivated and responsible team players to work as seasonal labourers in our Engineering & Public Works Department, starting in January 2023 for approximately six months.

Employees in this position perform a variety of skilled manual tasks in difficult and regularly safety
- sensitive working conditions. Duties may include: brushing fire hydrants; installing culverts; preparing and completing asphalt, sidewalk and boulevard repairs; backfilling and grading work; building forms; concrete finishing for manholes, catch basins, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, retaining walls and other structures; mixing and tamping concrete; brushing; garbage collection; sediment and pond cleaning; sign cleaning, sand bagging; pressure washing; track rack cleaning; snow removal. Employees perform traffic control (flagging duties) and independently perform related complex tasks.

Seasonal labourers need to have knowledge of the methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment commonly used in public works construction and maintenance work and an understanding of how municipal infrastructure works. Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination is required to perform this physical work in all types of weather.

Education : Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience : Experience an asset
