**Description**
The Educational Assistant is to support students as part of a multidisciplinary team with teacher, parents and other support personnel to provide a positive learn-through-play classroom experience. Hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 12:00PM
September to June, as well as participation in various fundraising activities and parent meetings, held a couple times throughout the school year.

**Responsibilities**
- Assisting in planning and delivering a playschool program in alignment with the North Glenora

Playschool Handbook
- Ensuring compliance with the current licensing requirements mandated by Alberta Children’s

Services
- Meeting the needs of each child on a day-to-day-basis during program delivery and ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner
- Reporting to and working with the teacher and Executive Director in order to achieve success for each child in the program
- Communicating with parents in order to bring about understanding, engagement and assistance in the overall success of the NGCL Playschool
- Coordinating with and reporting to the Executive Director in order to achieve the successful establishment and continuation of the NGCL Playschool

**Qualifications**
- Completion of High School Diploma or GED
- Hold qualifications as specified in the Alberta Child Care Licensing Act and Regulation, or willingness to obtain certifications (ECE level 1)
- Ability to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Completion of Childcare First Aid or Standard First aid with CPR-C

**Knowledge/Skills**
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work both independently and as part of a team
- Sensitive to and demonstrate knowledge in dealing with children from various cultural/racial backgrounds, and varying abilities
- Aptitude for group facilitation skills, creating an inclusive classroom and utilizing established classroom management techniques
