**Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities / Position Overview**:
**Inventory associate** is responsible for performing cycle counts, verify pricing both internally and externally, and assisting with cleaning /organizing the store.

While assisting the Store Merchandiser, you will be responsible to receive product, replenish stock, assess inventory sku's while assisting customers throughout the store. As well as merchandising products effectively to optimize sales and margin for the company.

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Perform cycle counts inside the store and in the yard, working with Store Merchandiser, Purchaser & Receiver.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to analyze stock and assess product turns (dead stock, etc.)
- Perform industry price checks and internal price checks insuring product is properly tagged.
- Clean and maintain retail floor, organizing stock, dusting, removal of debris etc.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor and attitude with team members, customers, store associates, and managers while performing duties.
- Comply with policies and procedures regarding loss preventions and breakage of goods, and other company policies and procedures.
- Provide “Customer Service Excellence” by seeking out Customers that appear to need assistance with store merchandise and answering any questions customers may have regarding products that are available
- Perform other administration duties as requested by management (ei.: assisting with mail outs, filing etc.)
- Perform other duties as requested by management.

**Knowledge, Skills, Ability and Experience**:

- Proficient computer skills
- Positive attitude and proven ability to work under pressure
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills with customers, employees and management
- Analytical and have excellent problem-solving skills, with above average math skills and attention to detail a must.
- Flexible and able to adapt to operational needs and deadlines.
- Experience in customer service, plus knowledge in lumber and building materials an asset.
- Work in a settling with a high sense of urgency and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Autonomous and dependable, while working in a team to contribute to overall company goals

**Working Conditions**:

- Ability to stand for 2 hours, or more, at a time
- Ability to sit down or lean over for long lengths of time while counting items in store
- Ability to lift items weighing 3 lbs. to 35 lbs and walking a distance of 10 feet.
- Ability to spend time analyzing data, reports & viewing computer screens for inventory, purchasing and receiving
- Availability of hours between 6:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday, and Saturdays 8:00am to 4:30pm

**Compensation**:

- Benefits and RRSP match after 3 months’ probation is successfully completed.
