**Our Team**:
The Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) Team at Creighton Mine is an integral part of Vale's long-term operating strategy. As part of the Creighton team, you will be supporting the Maintenance Departments in planning all work required to keep the plant running efficiently. Working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, as well as other maintenance and operating departments, in planning all inspections and repair work will mínimally impact the plant's production.

**The Opportunity**:
We are currently seeking a **Mechanical Planner** to join our** Maintenance Planning and Control Team **at** Creighton Mine **in** Sudbury, Ontario. **This is a **permanent** position.

As a Mechanical Planner, you will be helping to facilitate the continuous improvement of the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team's performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures. You will be accountable for the planning of work for Creighton's Mobile Maintenance Department and may be required to provide relief supervision as needed.

Additionally, in this position you will:

- Work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift.
- Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools, and standards.
- Execute the "Planning" element of the process for all types of work orders, systematic and non-systematic maintenance, which includes shutdown (PMP) and external resource-related work.
- Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned with emphasis on safety and based on priority and required end date. Ensure work order users' statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
- Coordinate and facilitate with the Scheduler to ensure all required planning/scheduling routines are followed.
- Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets. Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the "work schedule" for completion by the Required End Date.
- Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other planners, schedulers, and crew members.
- Relief supervisor as necessary which requires: holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism; and work with the team to develop an interactive workplace environment.

**About You
**Education**:

- Grade 12 completed or GED equivalency is required.
- Valid Heavy Equipment trade certificate for the province of Ontario is preferred.
- Generic Supervisor Common Core (770141) is preferred.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3 years of experience working within SAP and the Prometheus add-on as a Planner or Scheduler.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading crews.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the trades.

**Skills**:

- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
- Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
