**Key Responsibilities**:

- The Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring that Lakeland College’s employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner
- Responsible for processing monthly payroll, including mid-month advance cycle
- Manages all payroll reporting remittances for benefits, pension, WCB and T4’s
- Completes all payroll transactions such as payroll & benefit adjustments, new hire set up, pay adjustments, deductions and changes, HR administration tasks
- Performs audits and verification checks on vacation accruals, leaves, benefit information
- In performing this specialized and confidential work the incumbent must work in harmony with others to ensure that the preparation and processing of payroll data provides an efficient and accurate process for the entire College payroll

**Job Requirements**:

- Minimum two-year College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
- Canadian Payroll Association training/certification courses would be an asset
- Experience using PeopleSoft would be an asset
- 2-3 years related job experience
- Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets
- Experience with Local Authorities Pension Plan would be an asset
