We are currently seeking a **_Payroll Administrator_** **to join our team.

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for all day-to-day administrative and accounting tasks related to the payroll and benefits function. You will work with staff and management to ensure all payroll and benefit issues are resolved quickly and within the guidelines laid out by corporate policy and regulated requirements. Work and cooperate with all external and internal customers to ensure a high level of customer service. This position also communicates with outside organizations such as payroll and benefit service providers and government organizations to maintain a high level of service.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Complete all aspects of the payroll function including items such as data entry, transmission of payroll information to financial institutions, printing of pay slips, payroll reconciliation, government remittances, etc.
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
- Complete administrative tasks related to the corporate benefit package, pension plan, service awards, profit sharing program, etc.
- Assist staff, management, and external organizations with any inquiries or information related to this position
- Support team members, and perform other duties to assist the payroll department

**Safety & Health**:Supports all Safety & Health initiatives for the safety of all drivers, customers and other terminal employees by following all safety policies and procedures including the incident reporting system.

**Qualifications**

Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll and benefits legislation, and experience with an in-house computerized payroll system (CanPay), preferred. Fast and accurate data input skills with a strong attention to detail. A working knowledge of MS Office suite, strong communication and interpersonal skills with working knowledge of basic accounting practices.

**Physical Requirements**

Some of the physical demands may include, but not be limited to: pro-longed sitting and using a computer and telephone for entire shift etc.
