Head Cashier

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Head Cashier is responsible for customer satisfaction, staffing and cleanliness in the retail area of the store.

What You Bring to Our Team:

- Minimum three years of experience in retail, or customer service
- A high-level of initiative
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead and inspire a team with a passionate and positive demeanor
- Computer skills specifically with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Flexible availability from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm, seven days a week
- Creativity is an asset

- Oversee front end activities and ensure efficient operations
- Manage cashier schedules within assigned labour budget
- Supervise, train and mentor cashiers
- Assist Human Resources and the Store Manager with hiring and onboarding
- Organize pick-ups and deliveries of gift basket orders
- Order, receive and verify invoices against shipments for accuracy and freshness
- Organize, store and maintain adequate inventory of cashier supplies and retail merchandise
- Create product displays, rotate products, maintain product displays surrounding cash registers and foyer
- Control inventory of product on a monthly basis and prepare spreadsheets for Accounting
- Manage lunchroom and washroom cleaning, supply levels, and locker assignment
- Maintain clean checkout areas including shopping carts
- Maintain safe float, balance cash registers, process bank deposits and coin orders
- Attend occasional staff meetings
- Follow and ensure government regulations, company policies and procedures

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.50-$19.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

- 8 hour shift
