**Domestic Advocacy Intern**

**(September 16, 2024-December 13, 2024; internship; 37.5 hours per week; Toronto-based; hybrid)**

The Domestic Advocacy department at UNICEF Canada is seeking a motivated, organized, self-starter to join us as a Domestic Advocacy Intern. You will assist with youth engagement, event planning, communications, and administrative duties to support the department’s planning towards National Child Day/World Children’s Day activities.

In this role, you will also have an opportunity to work on projects to develop your skills in one or more of these areas: - Youth engagement - Project management - Event planning - Social media Projects and tasks may include (but are not limited to): - Supporting young people to prepare for activities - Coordinating activities - Supporting content creation - Event logistics support - Promoting events - Internal and external communications
- Passion for children’s rights
- Strong interest in child and youth issues, youth voice and not-for-profit organizations
- Experience with youth engagement (is a young person themself, or has participated in similar activities as a youth participant), particularly youth events
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time-management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid understanding of social media platforms
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset

**Compensation: $23.15 per hour**

**Job Type**: Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $23.15 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
