**Program Coordinator, Trees Winnipeg**

Term position, Full time, 37.5 hours (hours will vary depending on program requirements)

Salary range - $47,000 - $55,000 (depending on experience) **About Trees Winnipeg and the Job**:
Trees Winnipeg (Save the Elms Manitoba Coalition Inc) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to promoting the benefits and concerns of trees in Winnipeg’s urban areas, focusing on tree diversity and care. We are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Million Tree Challenge, the ReLeaf Program, the Heritage Tree Program, Ask an Arborist, Arbor Day celebrations, as well as other initiatives. Trees Winnipeg is made up of one employee and 1 to 2staff or contractors, and a volunteer board of directors and advisors. Our expertise is as diverse as our board members: we are arborists, academics, writers, retirees, public servants, and members of neighbourhood tree groups and other non-governmental organizations.

**Some of your responsibilities will include**:

- Coordinate the following programs: One Million Tree Challenge (OMTC), ReLeaf, and Ask an Arborist,
- Work with the Outreach Coordinator and Executive Director to further the 2BT program(s),
- Work with Outreach Coordinator to develop partnerships with community organisations, commercial enterprises, etc to engage in their own planting initiatives,
- Work with Executive Director to advertise OMTC and develop marketing / promotional material and opportunities, etc.

**Required skills or experience**:

- Experience managing multifaceted projects;
- Experience facilitating or doing live demonstrations;
- Knowledge of trees and the issues facing Winnipeg’s urban canopy;
- Knowledge of tree-planting best-practices and after care;
- Post secondary degree or diploma in a field related to tree-care or environmental resources.

**It would be nice if you had**:

- Criminal Record Check with satisfactory result,
- Understanding of City of Winnipeg procedures and planting guidelineswould be considered an asset.

We're looking for a self-starter who can manage their time effectively. The role requires drive and a sense of accountability because the day-to-day working environment will involve very little direct supervision. There’s also a physical component during some of our programming initiatives (lifting trees, helping people put heavy bags of mulch into their cars).
