**Job Title**: Service and Controls Technician

**Location**: 7900 Dallas Dr, Kamloops, BC

**Job purpose**:A service and controls technician works alone or with a team to install and service technical components of irrigation systems. This includes pivots, irrigation controllers, flow meters, pump units, submersible pumps, centrifugal pumps, variable frequency drives, pump starters, irrigation reel controllers, and more.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Field service calls from customers, troubleshoot, and diagnose
- Schedule all service calls
- Coordinate service times with customer and service person
- Ensure all service calls are qualified and billed accordingly
- Track parts and labor costs
- Install and service pivots, pumps, motors, reels, mainlines and other irrigation equipment
- Install and service irrigation control systems
- Troubleshoot problems systematically and find quality solutions
- Organize, clean and maintain equipment, tools and safety gear
- Record details of work completed with accurate and thorough details
- Transport materials and equipment to job sites as required
- Perform telemetry and electronic units service and troubleshooting as required. Training will be provided
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, always providing the best in quality service and value

- Experience in technology, computers, electronics. Experience with telemetry units is an asset

- Experience in the irrigation and / or agricultural industry is an asset

- Excellent time management without compromising the quality of their work

**Skills**
- Low voltage electrical (24VAC and 24VDC) knowledge
- High voltage electrical (motor voltage, phases, amperage, etc.)
- Familiar with:

- Variable frequency drives - calibration/troubleshooting
- Pumps - installation/priming/troubleshooting
- Plumbing - cutting/gluing/assembling manifolds
- Controls (become familiar with all types of irrigation controllers (Rainbird/Hunter/HIT/TWIG/Ranch/Fieldnet/Ocmis)
- Principles of Irrigation - basic understanding of irrigation systems or willing to train on irrigation systems
