We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse with a passion for the nursing to join an amazing team at a residential care facility. Are you able to commit to an assignment of 3 months or longer?
Qualifications:
- Current Practicing registration with the British Columbia College Of Nursing Professionals.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- LPN experience in Canada in Acute Care (preferred)
- Graduate of recognized school of nursing
- Education and experience in gerontology, long term care an asset.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings, such as hospitals, medical offices, and home care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and reactions to medications.
- Assist with patient assessments and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in developing care plans.
- Perform routine procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection.
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medication administration, and disease management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
**Skills**:
- Strong knowledge and experience in providing dementia care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Proficient in medication administration and dosage calculations.
- Familiarity with case management principles and practices.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months
**Salary**: $42.00-$48.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 12 hour shift
- Every Weekend
- Holidays
- Night shift
**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- LPN/RPN (preferred)
- Nursing (preferred)
- CPR Certification (preferred)
Ability to Commute:
- Surrey, BC (preferred)
Ability to Relocate:
- Surrey, BC: Relocate before starting work (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
