**Primary function**:
Home Location: Provincial Office - Toronto
Other Locations: Not applicable

Reports to: Manager, HR Advisory Service and Recruitment

**Key accountabilities**:

- Develop and maintain working relationships with HR business partners and hiring managers within the business areas to provide assistance with recruiting needs and job vacancy specifications
- Support hiring managers through the selection process while providing coaching on policies and best practices as needed
- Conduct reference checks and coordinate background checks as required
- Demonstrate and reinforce LAO’s commitment to providing fair and equitable recruitment and selection practices
- Embed diversity conversations in all recruitment and sourcing activities
- Attend career fair events (in-person and /or virtually) across the province and represent the organization on occasion
- Assist with other HR /recruitment related projects, tasks and duties as required

**Required skills & experience**:

- Experience recruiting in a unionized environment.
- Proficiency working with an HRIS and applicant tracking system
- Ability to prioritize effectively, manage a full workload and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to communicate and educate hiring managers at all levels of the organization
- Self-directed and solution-oriented with a high sense of urgency to deliver results and meet business deadlines

Preferred Experience
- Post-secondary diploma in human resources, business, or related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education
- Experience recruiting within the public sector is an asset.
- Experience recruiting within the legal sector
- Experience working with equity-seeking groups and championing diversity in the workplace
- Working knowledge of provincial employment laws, human rights and privacy legislation, behavioral-based interviewing, and human resources best practices
- French language skills is an asset
