THE ROLE
As the Portfolio Analytics Manager at UPP, you will be a key player in driving data-driven decision-making and exceptional leadership communication within the Strategic Initiatives Delivery team. Your role will involve collaborating with senior leaders, Project Managers, and stakeholders to understand complex business problems, define reporting needs, and synthesize data into insightful visual presentations. You will summarize complex financial reports and portfolio analyses into concise, visually appealing infographics and presentations that highlight key insights, risks, and recommendations for decision-makers. By creating persuasive digital and visual communications, you will contribute to aligning our strategic initiatives and operations with organizational goals.
Your responsibilities will span across strategic portfolio analytics, operational and financial reporting. This includes building a comprehensive understanding of our portfolio, optimizing financial and data reporting tools, and generating presentation ready reports for various leadership committees. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining the balance between demand and capacity, facilitating effective resource allocation. Your role extends to collaborating with Corporate Finance and the Data & Technology team to develop and update budgets team to implement data visualization tools like Tableau and Domo. You need to anticipate the needs of various stakeholders for insights and prepare insightful and presentation ready reports and dashboards to satisfy business needs. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes, transition from Excel-based reporting to advanced tools, and develop data and report automation to enhance efficiency.
In this senior analytical and reporting role, you will report into the Senior Director, Delivery Practice & Portfolio Reporting and continuously learn from seasoned leaders, fostering your professional growth with each project.
This role is based in downtown Toronto under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (approximately two days per week in-office).
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**Portfolio Analytics & Reporting**:
- Collaborate with Senior Leaders, Project Managers, and Corporate Finance to gain a comprehensive data-driven understanding of the portfolio.
- Provide data-driven reports to UPP leadership committees, including the Executive Leadership Team, Strategic Initiative Management Committee, and Financial Committees.
- Develop & present visually impactful project presentations for diverse audiences, spotlighting leadership focus areas.
- Lead strategic resource planning and maintain alignment between demand and capacity to support organizational objectives.
- Develop KPIs for departmental scorecards and establish measurement processes to track progress.
- Gather and analyze project and resource data for immediate responses to management and team queries.
- Synthesize reports for stakeholders across all levels, from peers to ELT members and oversight committees.
- Monitor project performance, collecting and aggregating data to create team and leadership reports.
- Design and manage dashboards, business metrics, and KPIs to effectively monitor project performance.
- Identify historical trends, risks, and areas for improvement to enhance project delivery.
