Gladue Aftercare Worker

**Scope**:
Under the direct supervision of the Justice Program Manager and overall direction of the Executive Director, the Gladue Aftercare Worker is responsible for providing case management to Indigenous people who have come in conflict with the law. The Gladue Aftercare Worker will assist with the recommendation of their Gladue Report prior to or upon sentencing. The Gladue Aftercare Worker will remain independent and neutral to promote harmonious relationships with clients, court staff and community service providers in Simcoe County.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for providing case and file management by assisting Indigenous clients to follow through with recommendations of their Gladue Report upon sentencing.
- Provide direct services and make necessary referrals to programs and series with Enaahtig, corrections, and in the community to ensure the clients receive services in a timely manner.
- Work in partnership with courts and or probation and parole services in providing necessary client input and updates as required.
- To explain the meaning of conditions and the importance of maintaining contact with the Gladue Aftercare Worker.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in criminal justice and/or social work or relevant experience.
- Must have knowledge of Restorative Justice Program and legal system in Ontario.
- Must have knowledge of Indigenous culture and teachings.
- Must be a role model in the community.
- Have or willing to obtain CPR/First Aid, NVCI or other required Trainings.
- Must be willing to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Midland, ON L4R 0G9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
