**Introduction**
Hope Awaits Ministries is a faith-based charitable mission called to proclaim and demonstrate the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ through meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of those who are homeless or in need of hope. While
Hope Awaits offers housing and other programs that meet basic needs, our real purpose is to create a family atmosphere where homeless men can come to be loved, encouraged, healed, and restored - a safe place in which men can encounter Christ and be transformed.

We are looking for a responsible supervisor to oversee the work at Hope Awaits Ministries. The role is a complex one. The Shelter Supervisor will not just be someone who supervises the work of others. The Shelter Supervisor is also responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between staff and the Executive Director.

**Qualifications / Skills**:

- Embrace the mission and vision of Hope Awaits Ministries and work in accordance with the teachings of The Bible
- Demonstrate a level of concern and compassion for others
- Degree, diploma or experience in management, human resources, or a related field (social work, group home, street ministry, pastoral care, etc.)
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies
- Ability to instill positivity within a team and keep them motivated
- Must be able to work well under mínimal supervision, setting goals and targets
- Demonstrate a mature level of professionalism in all areas of their work environment
- Proficient with office computer equipment and software
- Training in First Aid, CPR, and/or Crisis Intervention is preferred

**Responsibilities and Key Duties**:
General
- Share the love of Jesus Christ in word and deed
- Pray for clients, staff, volunteers, and overall ministry
- Act as the Executive Director in their absence

Operations
- Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the shelter
- Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the shelter’s programs and services
- Ensure that the programs and services offered reflect the organization’s mission and vision
- Monitor the day-to-day delivery of programs and services to maintain or improve quality
- Propose program modifications and new programs to the Executive Director
- Perform shelter care worker duties as required

Human Resources
- Provide guidance and encouragement to staff based upon Christian values and teachings
- Promote a mutually supportive environment that emphasizes collaborative approaches and that positively demonstrate the value of the contributions of staff and volunteers
- Create staff and volunteer schedules according to shelter needs and Hope Awaits budget
- Monitor employee and volunteer productivity and provide constructive feedback, coaching and discipline
- Work with the Executive Director to recruit, select, orient, and train staff and volunteers
- Implement a performance management process for all staff which includes monitoring performance on an on-going basis and conducting annual performance reviews
- Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises

Other related work as assigned.

**Work Hours**
- 40 hours per week
- Flexibility in working hours, including on-call availability and the willingness to work weekends and holidays
