Your role at Clorox:
As a member of the Canadian Finance & Accounting Team, help set the tone for the company on financial values, behaviours, processes and priorities. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results. Improve financial management processes and controls. Lead and develop departmental staff, improving individual capabilities and functional efficiency.

In this role, you will:

- Manage financial accounting close and reporting processes within established timetables. in compliance with Clorox Corporate accounting and reporting policies, ensuring new Canadian/ U.S. GAAP accounting requirements met while driving accuracy in processes to facilitate management reporting and analysis activities
- Assess current accounting operations, identifying and implementing “best practices” and other process improvements to facilitate “world class close” initiatives and enhance departmental productivity.
- Manage and develop accounting team of 4 - 3 direct reports
- Co-ordinate quarterly Internal Control Process self-assessments for Canada.
- Identify and implement corrective actions relating to internal control issues.
- Act as liaison with external auditors in the conduct of their yearly pension and financial statement audit reviews.
- Additional projects and tasks as assigned

What we look for:

- 10 years’ experience in financial statement preparation or public accounting, including 5 years’ experience coaching and mentoring a team
- Treasury and tax experience an asset
- Expertise in external and management reporting, close processes and improvements, audit management and systems improvement
- Ability to lead cross-functional change initiatives and form solid business relationships across functions
- Ability to lead accounting team, develop staff, implement significant initiatives and drive toward “world class” performance
- Ability to assess processes and systems to identify key control activities, determine whether they are functioning properly, and identify and implement improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian and U.S. GAAP
- An effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of HFM, AS400 and SAP an asset
- SAP implementation experience including testing, data conversion and problem resolution a plus
