**Position Summary... **:The Regional Manager, Optical Operations oversees operations of the optical sites within the region. They develop, maintain and improve store operating procedures to meet current and future strategic business needs. The focus of this position is to provide strategic & operational direction to the professional services district managers (PSDMs) and Vision Center Managers (VCM) as it relates to the optical business. The Vision Centre Managers will have dotted-line reporting to the Regional Manager, Optical Operations for the optical business. They lead and initiate operational improvement projects as well as liaise with our Health Enablement Team to inform and implement new strategic initiatives. This individual will work closely with our SSC partners, including but not limited to, the Health Enablement team, Recruitment Team, Marketing Team, Strategic Sourcing to drive business and operational excellence for our optical business. The individual is accountable for all operational metrics and works closely with the field teams to establish targets and KPIs and to ensure P&L performance is met or exceeded. Individual will monitor KPIs, trends and determine & lead continuous improvement opportunities to drive the business forward.

**What you'll do...**:
Responsible for the development of business case and execution of operational improvement programs to drive performance of our optical business.

Work with the Senior Director, to establish short and long-term key priorities and operational initiatives that will increase overall productivity and efficiency and establish and maintain communication with peers, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure best market processes and procedures are delivered. Conduct monthly P&L reviews with Director & Regionals
- share results with cross-functional market teams.

Work closely with SSC Stakeholders to drive business needs and performance of optical. Teams include, but not limited to our Health Enablement Team, Marketing Team, Recruitment Team, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Format Team, Merchandising Team etc. Act as a business SME across stakeholder groups to inform business needs for optical.

Provide leadership, direction, and is accountable in communicating clear expectations for implementation of operational processes and hold the Vision Centre Managers and PSDMs accountable for execution and follow-up of all corporate directives, policies and programs as developed by the merchandising organization. Establish targets and KPIs and ensure P&L performance is met or exceeded.

Work with Regionals /PSDMs and the health enablement team to inform Workforce Planning Strategy for optical, including optimal hours of operation, optical optometrist coverage and build operational plan to standardize and elevate performance across the country.

Work with finance to inform the SG&A budget, along with ownership of supplies/contracts/vendors etc. relating to the optical business (e.g. equipment, optometrist contract etc.)

Responsible for developing relationships with optometrists and schools of optometry and to work to support the recruitment and onboarding of optometrists and optical staff into Walmart Canada.

Directly oversee and supervise your region including coaching and performance management as well as education and delivery of training strategies to all stakeholders and district partners to support the overall achievement of the regional initiatives such as scope of practice and regulatory compliance. Monitor and evaluate performance of the Vision Centre Managers and act as an indirect coach (dotted line matrix) to Vision Centre Managers. ‎
