Humana Community Services is currently seeking applicants who have had success in managing internal payroll, and benefits for a medium-sized organization. In Humana’s People & Culture team the position is formally titled **Compensation Specialist**. Successful applicants will demonstrate sound knowledge of accurate and timely processing of employee information and remuneration through the HRIS/Payroll software (UKG Pro & Ready) in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards. They will maintain a positive customer service approach with internal and external stakeholders at all times.

**Responsibilities**:

- Confirm quality and accuracy of employee input, supervisor approvals, and employment documentation in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards
- Ensure government information is submitted accurately and on time; such as remittances, records of employment, T4s
- Ensure withholding and deductions are submitted accurately and on time; such as benefit premiums, retirement/savings contributions, union dues, insurance premiums
- Coordinate and manage benefit eligibility and enrolment, facilitate changes in information when notified
- Manage annual increases, entitlement trackers, and various accruals for union and non-union employee groups (within HRIS and in Excel)
- Coordinate and collaborate with departmental and internal stakeholders to support efficient information sharing
- Audit, monitor, and analyse information and provide feedback on a regular basis to ensure consistent and regulatory documentation standards
- Planned special projects include implementation of additional functions and modules of our HRIS/Payroll Software for the benefit of employees and supervisors alike

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of related post-secondary education; Payroll Practitioner designation in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years in full-cycle payroll management, preferably in a union environment
- Respectful, empathetic, and anti-oppressive communication skills while presenting complex information
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a demonstrated customer service approach
- High degree of discretion and confidentiality is required
- Ability to make independent decisions based on Policies & Procedures
- Previous experience with HRIS and data reporting is an asset
- Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (mandatory)
- Bilingualism is considered an asset

**Salary**: From $51,750.00 per year
