Caregiver (A18)

**RAPS is Seeking a Temporary Caregiver to Assist an Immobilized individual with Alzheimer’s (A18)**

**Location**: South Edmonton (Belgravia)

**Days/Hours**:Temporary Position (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Start Date: June 3rd, 2024 to June 3rd, 2025 (1 year) *Training shifts before start date
- Monday 2:30pm - 7:00pm
- Wednesday 2:30pm
- 10:30pm
- Thursday 1:30pm - 10:30pm
- Saturday 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Client is immobilized, so all actions must be done in bed using soaker pads to turn and reposition.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:Transfers using a hoyer lift,personal care (changing incontinence products, peri care, sponge bath, dressing, massage), ROM exercises, wound care, subcutaneous/clysis administration, repositioning client every 1- 2 hours, taking vitals, medication administration, meal preparation and feeding assistance, light housekeeping, documentation, supervision and companionship.

**Please note: 2 cats in the home**

**Qualifications and Other Requirements**: Must have a recent criminal record check including the vulnerable sector, must either have an HCA certificate or a minimum of 6 months’ previous caregiving experience**. **First aid/CPR Certificate & driver’s license/vehicle considered an asset.

*Must be able to move client’s body in bed without causing bruising (by gripping or pressing) or stress (by sudden, quick movements when repositioning client)

**Rate of Pay**: Training $22.00/hour

Regular wage $24.00/ hour

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 29.5 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Every Weekend
- Monday to Friday
