**JOB SUMMARY**

We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated professionals to join our dynamic accelerated learning program. As an Academic Success Tutor you will contribute to student learning, growth, and advancement; while facilitating small groups and one to one educational support and guidance to students in grades 2 to 6 under the Ontario school curriculum, and other supplementary learning skills developmental platforms. Students will be individually assessed to tailor the academic support needed to align with their socio-emotional development.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and deliver tutoring in a virtual/e-learning and in person platform.
- Designs and facilitates differentiated and personalized learning goals and activities that follow a coherent sequence, aligned to instructional goals, and engage students in high-level cognitive activities.
- Facilitates problem solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills.
- Collaborate effectively with parents and the organization to increase student performance.
- Invests in the learners’ well being including: health, safety, physical, social, and emotional.
- Report progress and results through formal and informal reporting procedures.
- Serves as a role model for students.
- Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents/guardians, as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated confidence and adaptability to using new technology
- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and integrity
- Familiarity with current trends impacting the social emotional health landscapes
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills, with the Ability to clearly and effectively convey information verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a virtual team environment
- Communicate components of an evidence-based instructional design process that encourages changes in learner behavior
- Experience collecting student data that will show progress of learning development
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Product Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

*Vulnerable Persons (Level 3) Police Check is Required

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in area of early childhood education or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years experience in K-12 education in a variety of settings (urban, and/or

Suburban.), including experience in at least one of the following areas:

- Trauma-informed care
- Social and Emotional Learning and shows an ability to teach the “Whole Child”
- Alternatives to exclusionary discipline (e.g. restorative practices)
- Integrating school-mental health principles into Multi-tiered systems of supports

Work Hours & Benefits:
This is a contract part-time position. Expected to work between 5-10 hours per week at a rate of compensation equal to $20-30 per hour.
