**Summary**

The Store Supervisor is responsible to ensure the store is always customer ready and for fostering a fun environment and customer obsessed culture.

**Main Responsibilities and Tasks**

**Customer Service**
- Encourages and maintains a culture that values an excellent customer experience through effective training, supervision, and coaching.
- Holds team members accountable for providing an excellent customer experience and recognizes those who excel in it.
- Uses creativity to design balloon décor and bouquets for every holiday and occasion.
- Lead by example and consistently deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Implement and follow store policies and procedures that deliver a high-quality customer experience.
- Able to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism in order to deliver excellent customer service

**Operations**
- Maintain quality store presentation, through daily inspections and ensure all store audit performance requirements are met in the department.
- Ensure department is appropriately staffed through effective planning and scheduling and according to store budget and customer needs.
- Plan and manage daily/weekly departmental activities as well as seasonal changeovers and work with the team to execute them.
- Supervise and assist team members in daily operations in order to meet established productivity goals.
- Consistently follow up on work and projects on the floor in order to measure progress and address issues immediately, while being visible and available for team members and customers.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with company, and store policies, as well as health and safety programs and regulations.
- Assist in selecting and orientating new employees, store opening and closing responsibilities.
- Coach and encourage team members in learning new retail operational processes and procedures and new skills in order to improve performance. Regularly provide informal and constructive feedback.
- Address issues and conflicts in a timely manner.
- Complete other tasks, as required.

**Physical Demands and Working Conditions**

**In compliance with the store"s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures**:

- Standing/walking for 8 hours.
- Lifting and/or carrying merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent and unassisted basis. Merchandise item may vary in weight from “light" to “heavy".
- Lifting and turning repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Lifting above the shoulder, from floor to shoulder and floor to waist.
- Walking and carrying things at the same time and pushing/pulling, as required.
- Twisting, turning, reaching and working above shoulder level.
- Ability to go up and down a ladder while carrying products of various weights.

**Requirements**:
Requirements & Competencies
- Experience in retail sales, execution and operations.
- Good working knowledge of products and functions.
- Demonstrated supervisory, leadership and/or managerial experience or relevant experience.
- Basic math and typing skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a team to achieve common goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to find solutions to problems and make decisions.
- Ability to multitask, adapt and cope with challenging situations.
- Ability to operate a cash register is an asset.
- Experience in a Party City or Canadian Tire store is considering an asset.
