**Employer Engagement Specialist (Halifax)**

**POSITION: Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)**

**Salary: $50,000 Annual + benefits**

**Contract to March 2027, with a possibility of extension**

Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) is a national employment initiative that supports employers to hire inclusively. Since 2014, RWA has supported businesses to hire more than 4,000 employees who are on the autism spectrum or have an intellectual disability.

**About the Role**

Do you have experience building relationships with employers? Are you a community mind, with a talent for making connections? The **Employer Engagement Specialist** is a relationship builder - developing connections and partnerships with employers of all kinds, employment agencies, and a ready, willing, and able workforce of job seekers who have an intellectual disability or are on the autism spectrum.

**Salary: $50,000 Annual **+ benefits

**Key responsibilities**
- Conduct business outreach & engagement across various sectors and industries to promote the value of inclusive hiring.
- Engage employers to diversify their hiring practices and expand recruitment and hiring of people with intellectual disability and the autism spectrum.
- Link hiring demand to a qualified talent pool and build community capacity to support job seekers and employees with intellectual disabilities or autism.
- Develop partnerships with community employment agencies and service organizations to identify job seekers to fill open roles.
- Deliver presentations and resources for business groups to promote the employment of people with an intellectual disability or who are on the autism spectrum.
- Collect and document stories of successful hires.

**Additional Responsibilities**
- Ensure adequate and ongoing information dissemination, development of tools and resources, and development and delivery of public awareness efforts.
- Participate in national RWA communication and marketing campaign activities, including social media, LinkedIn, etc.
- Attend monthly national RWA team conference calls.
- Liaise and maintains working relationships with the RWA national team and provincial partners.
- Meet all reporting and documentation requirements of the national RWA program, including, but not limited to, completing quarterly reporting and maintaining the client management database.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Experience engaging and building partnerships with businesses and organizations around sales and/or hiring.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the talent to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life and experiences
- Knowledge of local labour market issues and trends.
- Knowledge of issues and barriers faced by people with intellectual disability and autism. Awareness of and commitment to full inclusion for people with intellectual disability and autism, including the right to employment and economic participation.
- Experience in sales and employer engagement is an asset.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications and client relationship management software. Aptitude for learning new online systems and tools.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent experience.

**Working Conditions**
- Flexibility is required based on deadlines and requirements. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
