SEC maintains its head office in Newmarket and provides direct human services for multiple programs, which include Supervised Access, EarlyON Child & Family Centres, Welcome Centre for Immigrant Services Newmarket and numerous Before & After School and licensed Childcare programs, providing excellence in delivery, through customer focus and high satisfaction, high impact and operational efficiency.

**Project Overview**

SEC operates within a collaborative framework with four other organizations to implement the Welcome Centre Immigrant Service system (WC - _Welcomecentre.ca_) to provide comprehensive settlement support to newcomers to Canada landing in the York Region. To support our agents with the ability to provide clients with rapid access to accurate and current information, we’ve identified the need to increase our processes and processing capabilities by adding a Project Management Specialist to our team that will support new business development within our social enterprise and newcomer access arms.

**The Opportunity**

The Project Management Specialist will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop, monitor, and ensure the successful implementation and execution of key projects from start to finish, ensuring that project timelines, milestones and deliverables are met. You will also be responsible for ensuring effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders and coordinating all administrative tasks related to the project.

The initial project that occupies this role is SEC’s AI initiative.

**Key Job Responsibilities**
- Oversee and ensure appropriate planning, prioritization and delivery of key projects
- Oversee the implementation of the SEC AI initiative from through all project phases ensuring project deliverables are completed on schedule and meet quality standards
- Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, communication schedules, etc.
- Provide regular project status updates and reporting to Director and all involved stakeholders
- Coordinate and manage all administrative tasks related to the project, including but not limited to facilitating meetings (including agendas and minutes,) preparing reports, maintaining project documentation and all project-related activities
- Monitor project resources while managing expectations and mitigating any project related risk
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders
- Track project expenses and budgets
- Maintain an organized electronic filing system for project-related documents and information
- Monitor project progress and identify areas for improvement
- Provide project support to the SEC Director of Access Services as needed
- Identify and manage areas of risk and compliance related to every stage of the project
- Provide support and project management coordination to new business development opportunities
- Post secondary education in a related field (a degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming or in a related field is an asset for the AI project but not required).
- PMP designation is required
- 3-5 years of practical hands on project management experience with medium sized projects
- Knowledge of and demonstrated practical experience with project management methodologies, tools and software
- Experience with business development and business planning
- Proven leader and strong communicator with exceptional ability in building successful collaborative relationships with all involved stakeholders (internal and external)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational, time-management and decision making skills with the ability to manage competing demands
- Strong interpersonal skills including client/stakeholder relations, collaboration and team building
- Familiarity with AI and technology-related projects is an asset
- Programming experience with Python is an asset
- Experience with Ansible, Airflow, Docker, NGINX, Terraform and Kubernetes are an asset
- Knowledge of Settlement Services is an asset
- Knowledge of change management principles and experience supporting a change process is asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months
