**Position Description**:
Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario is currently seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) CH&E Specialist(Knowledge Broker). The Knowledge Broker will report to the YWHO Manager Site Implementation and will work closely with the Knowledge Mobilization Lead, YWHO Practice Leads and the Implementation team. The Knowledge Broker will be chiefly responsible for providing YWHO Hub Networks and key system partners with access to knowledge, evidence, and resources to support capacity building, decision-making, program development and implementation relating to youth mental health and substance use and the YWHO model of care. They will also develop, refine, evaluate and mobilize the curricula and training materials for YWHO Networks and partners across Ontario. This position will be located in Toronto.
**Responsibilities**:
The Knowledge Broker will be responsible for developing and reviewing/revising knowledge products and resources to support integrated knowledge exchange and the management and mobilization of knowledge amongst service providers, knowledge users, researchers, policy makers, community members, and additional YWHO partners, with a particular emphasis on substance use knowledge. The Knowledge Broker will gather, analyze and synthesize research, evidence and other forms of knowledge to inform best practices for youth with substance use and/or mental health concerns and the implementation of evidence-based and evidence-generating practices. They will support trainings, workshops, and other knowledge exchange activities for YWHO Hub staff, partners and additional service providers across the province.
This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key partners at the local, provincial and national level. This will include supporting an expert advisory group to identify and advise on training and resource development needs and priorities relating to substance use, involving YWHO Hub Networks, provincial partners, youth, family and other system expertise. The Knowledge Broker will participate in writing and preparing reports for funders, as well as required evaluation activities. They will leverage a strong understanding of anti-racism/anti-oppression and principles of health equity to support implementation of the YWHO model and evidence-based and evidence-generating practices to support youth with mental health and substance use challenges.
**Job Requirements**
- Previous experience working in youth mental health and substance use services is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with and understanding of knowledge translation and exchange strategies, methods, and frameworks is required, including the ability to identify, and summarize relevant evidence and develop knowledge exchange products, such as options analyses, briefing notes, and other tools, to support development and implementation of new practices/services.
- Demonstrated experience with event and training coordination is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, experience in curriculum development and previous experience creating e-learning content and familiarity with Learning Management Systems is an asset.
- Required experience developing and maintaining effective, strong partnerships, amongst diverse stakeholders with varying priorities and needs, including experience with youth and family engagement, service provider engagement, co-development, coaching and system change.
- Strong time management skills and ability to accomplish project deliverables and objectives within specified timeframes is a must.
