- As a Detours Coordinator you will be responsible for the review, approval and authentication of Temporary Traffic Control Plans, communication and coordination with Traffic Signals Engineering & Operations, Transit, Traffic Management Centre (TMC), various business units, interested parties, Councilors and public enquires. Primary duties include:
- Supervise staff including managing priorities and workflow, providing coaching, and training and managing performance, including discipline.
- Ensure customer service and service level agreement (SLA) goals are met with respect to permit and detour requests, creating and measuring metrics and reporting systems and developing and implementing continuous improvements to systems or processes that impact operations and permit revenues.
- Contribute to strategic planning related to the ongoing operations of Roadway Operations & Detours, considering overall performance, customer needs and organizational direction.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures and guidelines relating to Roadway Operations & Detours including researching best practices and identifying new technologies and trends.
- Provide temporary traffic control advice and assistance to City staff, consulting engineers, private contractors, and the general public regarding traffic control plans for operations, maintenance, construction and special events.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Civil Engineering.
- You must have at least 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience including customer service, working in the Operations Centre and/or supervising staff obtain after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) **complete with practicing status** OR licensure **and practicing status** by the first day of work **Click here for more details**.
- Experience managing a team, delegating work, and coaching staff to meet objective.
- The ability to analyze information quickly and think critically and creatively to resolve problems or act on or develop opportunities is required.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills is required in dealing with a range of situations, which may include complex, sensitive and confidential issues.
- Professionalism, discretion, courtesy, and respect in all interactions with internal and external interested parties.
**Working Conditions**:An office environment in a 24/7, 365 days a year operation.
**Pre-employment Requirements**
- A security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Location: 2808 Spiller Road SE
- Compensation: Level E $91,367 - 137,955 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
-work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
