**CVR Inc. **is a local Arnprior manufacturer of high-quality automotive performance parts. Our company has been in business at the same location for 30 years.

In developing competitive products for the global market, we are currently seeking:
**CNC MACHINIST/OPERATOR**

The position responsibilities include:

- Set up and operate a wide variety of machines including CNC lathes, vertical mills, CNC horizontal mills and saw without supervision,
- Set up machines in order to machine parts to engineering specifications,
- Read and interpret drawings,
- Perform visual inspection and use a variety of measuring devices such as verniers and micrometers to ensure the part is within acceptable tolerance as determined by the engineering drawing,
- Inspect parts machined on the multi-axis CNC mills and lathes,
- Create tooling, jigs and fixtures,
- Work from a basic program on CNC machines and make minor program modifications to conform to drawing specifications,
- Assist manufacturing engineering with parts programming for machining centers,
- Perform other manual machining operations such as tapping, grinding, and honing in order to machine the part to acceptable standards,
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions for adjustments or repairs,
- Perform basic machine preventive maintenance on a weekly basis,
- Operate material handling devices such as lift trucks in a safe manner,
- Participate in production planning and workplace improvement initiatives,
- Follow procedures.

- An Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Machinist, Tool and Die Maker or equivalent (preferred but not required),
- 3 + years of experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment,
- Previous experience operating CNC machining centers and lathes.

**NOTE**:
**Salary**: $24.00-$25.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Machinist: 3 years (preferred)
