**Position Summary**:
The Operations Manager for Vicwest’s new BC facility oversees daily production activities to ensure efficient operations and adherence to quality standards. This role involves managing a team, optimizing workflows, and coordinating with supply chain partners to meet production goals and maintain safety compliance.

This position reports to the Vice-President, Operations.

**Key Accountabilities**:
1. **Production Efficiency**: Oversee and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure maximum productivity, minimize downtime, and meet production targets while adhering to quality standards.

2. **Team Leadership and Development**: Manage and support the operations team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to build a skilled and motivated workforce.

3. **Safety and Compliance**: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards, implementing and enforcing safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement strategies to enhance manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity.
- Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure smooth and cost-effective operations.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards throughout the production process to ensure that products meet or exceed specifications and customer expectations.
- Develop and manage budgets for the manufacturing site, including tracking expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring financial targets are met.
- Lead, train, and motivate the operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment while addressing any personnel issues.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing best practices to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
- Oversee routine and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of assets.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely procurement of materials and efficient distribution of finished products

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations management, or a related field or commensurate Operational Management experience.
- Proven experience in manufacturing operations, typically 5-7 years, with a strong background in production management, process improvement, and team leadership.
- Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP (Project Management Professional).
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage performance, and foster a positive work environment.
- Proficiency in analyzing data and metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Strong skills in identifying issues, developing solutions, and implementing effective changes to optimize operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Capability to manage projects from conception through execution, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- 3-5 years of estimating experience with a variety of building envelope products lines: metal wall cladding, metal roofing systems, insulated metal panels would be an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $105,000.00 per year
