Position Summary:
This full-time permanent position is based at our Willmar oilfield waste facility, operating in a team environment.

As Level 1 Operator you are responsible for operating in a safe manner and in accordance with safe operating procedures as outlined by the Facility Manager. You will learn and understand the regulatory and operating approvals, Critical Tasks and ERP. You will also have excellent customer service skills as you will be interacting with customers and truck drivers.

**Responsibilities**:
Plant Operations
- Learn and follow the Standard Operating Procedures
- Receive and unload trucks with mínimal supervision
- Learn and have an understanding of plant process and segregation of products
- Able to work independently at assigned tasks with mínimal supervision
- Learn and be able to operate plant mobile equipment as well as fixed equipment
- Service and maintain plant equipment as instructed
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Ensure tools being used are looked after/cleaned, put away and maintained
- Learn and have an understanding of facility load receipt ticket coding
- Daily duties at the plant will include truck unloading and washout, tank operations, operating pumps for injection and fluid transfers, operation of shaker and centrifuge and maintenance of all plant equipment

Customer Service
- Develop a relationship with customers/truckers and provide a high level of customer service in a timely manner
- Gain an understanding of waste streams that Plains accepts and ensure customers are delivering product that meets our facility licensing parameters

Environment Health & Safety
- Be aware of and have an understanding of Safe Work Permits
- Develop knowledge and participate in Near Miss/Hazard ID and Incident identification and reporting
- Learn and have an understanding of facility ERP and Plains Policies
- Operate in a safe manner according to the Health and Safety Manual
- Participate and provide input into Safety Meetings

Paperwork
- Develop an understanding of daily inventories and weekly actuals and participate in process
- Have an understanding of required information on trucker log for billing information
- Learn and understand procedure for entering information from sample cut onto ticket

Qualifications:

- Must have a mechanical background
- Must be self-motivated and able to function in a team environment
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Grade 12 Education or equivalent required
- Experience with operation at a waste facility an asset
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Centrifuge experience an asset

- oil and gas: 1 year (preferred)
