INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

(Permanent Full-Time Position)

**Competition 16-22**

**FUNCTION**:
Reporting to the Director of Service, the Information Technology Manager is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information systems and technologies at the Children’s Aid Society of SDG while ensuring proper operation of the IT department, provide IT support throughout the organization and manage the overall security.

**MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensures appropriate and effective infrastructure for information technology activities by recommending, developing, and implementing appropriate IT systems to improve the agency business processes through the use of technology and ensure alignment with the business objectives of the Society
- Assures security, integrity and reliability of computer information systems and communication systems and oversees, maintains, and enforces security protocols
- Monitors security and risk management for corporate IT systems
- Acts as primary contact for the Information Technology Department and liaison for the Provincial IT Networking Group
- Develops, maintains, and monitors respective Business Continuity Plans, and IT Policies and Procedures
- Develops innovative technology solutions in support of the Agency’s hybrid work model
- Ensures timely communication of emerging technology issues to Senior Leadership
- Manages the effective and efficient utilization of suppliers and contractors to ensure expectations on the established productivity levels, contract goals and continuity in the provision of necessary services are achieved
- Oversees and participates in system upgrades, roll outs and implementation
- Oversees and maintains the agency’s telephone system for user management and technical support
- Oversees the physical inventory and monitors the inventory control system for all agency computer related equipment
- Responsibility for management of equipment budgets; includes: monitoring IT expenditures and assets, and reallocating resources as required.
- Perform conduct cost/benefit analyses and present to senior management for approval
- Provides leadership for the operational success of the IT Department
- Responsible for the hiring, development, coaching and appraisal of IT staff while promoting staff participation, teamwork and positive employee relations.
- Expected to take an active role in the IT department and ensure coverage given the size of the team

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Responsive to the knowledge and understanding of the culture, history and current oppressions experienced by marginalized communities and communities that are overrepresented in the child welfare system, including but not limited to, Indigenous, racialized and the 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
- The IT Manager must be someone who is energetic and a self-starter who is an excellent team player.
- College diploma or university degree or a suitable combination of education, experience, or other relevant training.
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in a related role and 3-5 years experience in a management role.
- Excellent, planning, time-management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Experience interacting effectively with senior management teams and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities
- Excellent ability to use the Windows Desktop, Server, Azure, Microsoft Office Cloud Solutions, Virtual Servers, Backup Solution, Anti-Virus and Endpoint Solutions, Firewall and VPN infrastructure and to be able to direct and guide others on the usage of them
- Excellent knowledge of management information systems and infrastructures; technology, software, and hardware; networks; servers, security policies.
- Knowledge of legislation governing privacy, security, and confidentiality
- Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills providing articulate, constructive, meaningful, and timely interaction at all levels with the ability to make complex issues understandable
- Excellent mentoring, coaching and communication skills to provide instructions and guidance to staff with respect to IT activities, challenges, and questions
- Excellent change management skills to achieve objectives
- Improve employee performance by coaching, developing, and providing feedback in a supervision setting or in a performance appraisal.
- Ability to deal with highly sensitive and personal information in a confidential manner
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Valid driver’s license

**SALARY**:
Salary range $92,898 - $116,685, commensurate with education and experience
