We are currently seeking a project-based Consultant for Planning & Allocations, Merchandising & Buying. Working closely with the Chief Product Officer and the Chief Financial Officer, the Consultant will need to assess, recommend, and implement industry-best end-to-end processes for sales optimization and inventory management through the planning & allocations and merchandising & buying functions; and to assess the functionality, and current utilization, of the existing planning and allocations system (software). The Consultant will provide recommendation on best action plan for new system.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
Planning & Allocations
- Establish baseline planning consistency and accuracy (e.g. opening inventory should equal prior year ending inventory, roll up by classes should foot).
- Identify opportunities to improve speed and accuracy of planning and forecasting.
- Evaluate and implement revisions to planning methodology (currently planned under retail inventory method, ideally change to costing method, which will have an impact on margin calculation).
- Establish regimented inventory allocation and management process, including a robust and up-to-date view of inventory health, disciplined inventory allocation, ongoing monitoring of store inventory (e.g. stock-outs and slow inventory), and regimented end-of-life scoping/action process.

Merchandising & Buying
- Establish guardrails on assessment of appropriate style and option counts for seasonal buys.
- Clarify roles and responsibilities between the Functions to eliminate duplicative work.
- If possible, recommend simple planogram function to more accurately align intended product assortment to actual allocations.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Business, Management or a related field.
- 8+ years of category management, Buying, assortment planning and merchandising experience within the apparel industry.
- Experience with setting retail-pricing matrix to maximize profits and sales targets.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Self-lead and an independent thinker with the ability to drive results in a fast pace environment.
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- Extremely detailed and goal oriented, paired with the ability to deliver results against set targets.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas and communicate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
