**Position Overview**

**University of Calgary International (UCI)** is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Relief **International Projects & Grants Officer **for approximately one year.

**Position Description**

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Scholarship Management of International Scholarships for Non-Canadians. (Global Affairs Canada Scholarships) and Federally & Provincially funded Agencies
- Acting on behalf of UCI designated Principal Investigator (PI), the IPGO serves as the primary point of contact with funding agencies and program administrators
- Develops and maintains a full understanding of contribution agreement requirements from funders and proactively coordinates project activities by anticipating the yearly competition dates
- Monitors websites for news and competition openings and maintains active relationships with funder/program administrators
- Communicates results to applicants, composes letters of support from PI's and sends them to applicants, to facilitate border entry
- Composes Scholarship Agreement letters between UCalgary and scholarship recipients for signature on arrival. Includes signed letter with request for scholarship disbursement through UG Awards or GS Awards
- Coordination and promotion of various internal and external Global Learning awards and grants
- Supports preparation of grant proposals for external funding of global learning opportunities through background research, coordination and co-writing
- Contributes to project proposal development, and supports identification of project procurement opportunities, including identifying and providing follow-up support to garner international sponsorship and scholarship opportunities (project procurement opportunities are monitored, communicated to, and follow-up support provided by informing interested parties in a timely manner)

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- An undergraduate degree in business studies or international relations, with at least three years of experience in scholarship management, international student support services or a related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer and coordinate grant cycles, scholarship projects, and general project proposal development.
- A certificate or additional studies in proposal writing or project procurement is considered an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability in project proposal writing, identifying funding opportunities and/or developing communication materials for project procurement purposes, including preparing project cost estimates
- Proven organizational skills, and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Demonstrated experience with international student recruitment, university administration, academic advising, and/or international education
