**Rotation/Shifts**:
Days, including weekends, 12 hour shifts.

**Basic Requirements**:
- Master's Degree in Psychology or Social Work;
- Current registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario OR current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers;
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a multidisciplinary mental health setting;
- Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of mental illnesses, intervention approaches, especially crisis intervention with persons experiencing a mental health crisis;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to educate and provide consultation to clients/patients, families, police partners and allied healthcare professionals;
- Ability to make effective referrals, reflecting in depth knowledge of community resources and strong collaborative skills in working with TOH departments, police officers and other community partners;
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation;
- Proven ability to assess, plan, prioritize, organize, implement, evaluate and problem solve;
- Proven ability to exercise mature, effective judgment and behaviour in emergency situations and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team;
- Ability to develop, co-ordinate and deliver in-services, presentations;
- Proven ability to be organized and demonstrated excellent documentation practices;
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including Windows-based programs;
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to own automobile;
- Completion of a criminal records check, with results acceptable to the Ottawa Hospital;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.
