Temporary Summer Student Position

**Details**:
Within the vision and mission statements of the Society, reporting to the Operations Manager, we are seeking a confident, skilled, and self-directed **Statistician**, who has the experience and track record of collecting and analyzing data to allow an organization to make well informed decisions. Salary range is from $21 per hour.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Analytical skills**:First and foremost, must be experts in statistical analysis. Must have a keen eye for detecting patterns and anomalies in data. Must be meticulous and detail oriented.
- **Technical skills**:To effectively collect and manipulate the data that informs actions, as a statistician you must leverage computer systems, algorithms, and other technologies, meaning technical proficiency is critical.
- **Communication skills**:Although as a statistician, you are expert in mathematics and statistics, as a successful applicant, you must also exhibit strong communication skills to _effectively communicate the findings of their analysis_ with others. This includes both verbal and written communication, as well as the ability to present data in easy-to-understand, visual ways.
- **Leadership skills**: Must be able to think critically about the data that is being analyzed through the lens of key stakeholders and executives. Be able to think like a leader to identify trends and data points that can make a big difference in SSSBC.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: $20.00-$21.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Machine learning: 1 year (preferred)
