_Job Description_

Under direction, the fundamental duties of the Line Cook include responsibility for cooking & leading the line, vast knowledge of scratch cooking, understanding seasonal ingredients, vast knowledge of all types of menu prep and presentation.

The Line _Cook_ works with a degree of independence and is responsible for making decisions requiring sound judgment and familiarity with Nico Wynd Golf Club policies, as well as but not limited to restaurant industry guest services standards. Performance is evaluated by Grill Manager.
- Essential Functions_
- Actively promote and exhibit enthusiasm in the workplace.
- Clearly identify guest experience priorities and manages time effectively and efficiently to accommodate their needs.
- Basic food preparation as well as advanced food preparation knowledge
- Prepare and cook individual dishes or entire meals.
- Tournament and event meals
- Ensure sanitary cooking conditions and appropriate safe food handling.
- Responsible for proper cleaning and sanitation of work area and all related kitchen equipment.
- Will be directly involved in menu development.
- Monthly counting of inventory and inventory control.
- Promote safety and security of co-workers, guests, building, and assets utilizing procedures and policies.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless team-oriented guest service.
- Provide feedback to the management team on the effectiveness.

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Basic food preparation along with advanced food knowledge and preparation
- Proper service temperatures of prepared foods
- Ability to deal with high-pressure environments.

- Some job training is provided; however, employees must be able to accept responsibility for assignments and follow directions in a timely and professional manner.
- Intermediate command of the English language and solid communication skills
- Time management skills
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
- FOODSAFE certification is required.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training is an asset.
- Minimum 2- 5 years in a similar role
